French VOGUE and my unconditional love for Balmain jackets.

I have been enjoying my vacation back home in France for about 2 weeks now, and while my daily outfit often is a tiny bikini, I have not forgotten or put aside my passion for fashion.

I have to admit that I haven't really been taking outfit-pictures or even street style pictures because I have been quite busy being the family's photographer and I don't feel like carrying my heavy camera around all day!

So "why, you might ask, why a blog post if you have no pictures to show us?"

Well, for many reasons...Firstly because I am in France for God's sake and that fashion is a way of life here but mostly because being in France I have had more access to French fashion magazines...and I want to scream clear and loud that the French VOGUE is by far the best edition of VOGUE ever ever ever....at least of the VOGUE magazines that I can understand....maybe the Russian VOGUE is amazing...

Anyway, I have only been here for a couple of weeks and only 1 issue of the magazine was enough to make me proclaim the French VOGUE as the crème of the crème!

Why? Because the editorial photoshoots are breath-taking, the writing both witty and educational and because that one issue came with a present!!! A dvd of the French fashion week where 5 top models take us backstage of the most amazing shows:"Les Filles en Vogue".

I pretty just spent the last 52 minutes watching these 5 beautiful girls's take on the Paris fashion week. Not only was it glamourous and fun, it was 52 minutes of exclusive backstage footage of the greatest runway shows....which leads me to talk to you about my unconditional love for Balmain jackets and the entire military inspired Balmain collection for that matter.

For you avid readers of my blog, you might remember my love at first sight for the striped Givenchy jacket?! Well, my love for these Balmain jackets is as strong if not stronger. What is so great about them? The design, the shoulder pads, the badass military look...all of the elements that make you look and feel powerful when you put the jacket on. Hold it, one second, I unfortunatelly did not get the chance to try one of these jackets on...( if I had I would have sold one of my organs to buy the jacket...I don't even know if my organs are worth that much...or anything. I should look into that!) but I did try Zara's imitation of what could be a Balmain jacket...Oh MY!

Being at my poorest, right now...( with a brighter future ahead), I cannot afford the $100 jacket...but I pay it a visit quite regularly and I can tell you, fashion lovers, that anyone with any ambition in life ( and a passion for fashion!) must own a Balmain jacket!

Why? As soon as you put one on, you will understand why...I do not want to spoil the experience for you guys. Trust me on that one and go, go ahead, go find your own Balmain jacket and when you put it one and feel the power passed onto you by the perfectly slimming cut, the shiny brass buttons and the empowering structured shoulder pads, tune in your iPOD to Wagner's infamous Ride of the Valkyries and walk down the runway of your life and allow yourself to feel like a million dollars 21st century Napoléon because damn girl, in that Balmain jacket you look good!
